Her work engages with body, voice and sound practices. Driven by a fascination with their materiality and relationality, she works across a spectrum of expressions ranging from the most subtle sonic gestures to more extreme vocal forms.
She forms a duo with choreographer Olivia Rivière (Copenhagen, Denmark), where they together have been exploring the embodiment of extended vocal practices since the beginning of their collaboration in 2017. Their work has a somatic approach as its entry point and looks to skew and expand the gendered voice through its affective potentials and reach. Drawn to visceral techniques such as growling and screaming variations, they move through different intensities, creating open-ended situations that seek out resonance.
Their works have been presented at venues, festivals and galleries such as ImPulsTanz (Austria), MDT (Sweden), Weld (Sweden), Dansehallerne (Denmark), Black Box Theatre (Norway), Norberg Festival (Sweden), Les Urbaines (Switzerland), Shower (South Korea) and Roskilde Festival (Denmark).
As a performer, she has participated in works by artists and choreographers Dries Verhoeven, Sara Gebran, Ellen Söderhult, Éva Mag, Jules Fischer and Isabel Lewis, among others.
Lisen holds an MA in Choreography from Stockholm University of the Arts (2019). She’s a member of the artist house höjden where she together with Stina Ehn and Jennie Bergsli organizes the performance event Kafé Mix.
